Do you remember the story of our superhero armored vehicles? In July 2022, we handed over 11 modern, Italian, new MLS Shield armored vehicles to an airborne brigade. Each vehicle bore the name of one of the Marvel superheroes. 11 armored superheroes who joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The vehicles immediately proved themselves in the most extreme situations. One board came under fire from Grad rockets and saved lives. Another one withstood a direct hit from a Kornet anti-tank missile system - only one of the dozen people in the armored vehicle was killed. Another Shield was hit directly in the hood by a mine. Again, everyone in the vehicle survived. There were other smaller hits as well. Each time we tried to restore the wheels or some small items.
However, the case of the mine hit for the armored vehicle was fatal: the men survived, but the vehicle was beyond repair. His name was Venom. He finished his service. But not in a landfill. Venom passes all the useful parts and mechanisms to Thor (who has already returned to the paratroopers) and Raccoon (Rocket Raccoon armored vehicle), another of the wounded. With the help of Venom's donor parts, the Raccoon will be fully restored and will return to the war.
