War is not only about guns, tanks, airplanes, machine guns... War is about warriors first and foremost! War is first of all about people! With their needs and desires! A warrior is dressed, slept, fed, wearing comfortable shoes - a strong warrior whose attention is focused on doing his job - protecting us, the community, from the occupiers!

The fact is that the state is not always able to provide everything we need in full. And then we, the volunteers, we, the citizens, can chip in and quickly solve the everyday problems of our defenders!

In the winter of 2023-24, we purchased and sent to the front line 1040 sets of Earmor M31 MOD3 (FG) active protective headphones.

What are active protective headphones? These are headphones designed to protect soldiers' hearing from loud sounds of gunfire, explosions, etc. Ordinary soldiers also need them, but they are absolutely indispensable for those who deal with loud sounds every day, such as mortar launchers, artillerymen, tankers, etc. In civilian life, we are advised to protect our ears with headphones even when working with a hammer drill, so what can we say about soldiers near an anti-aircraft gun?

Active headphones don't just protect your hearing through soundproofing - they also have special sensitive microphones on the outside that analyze ambient sounds, amplify environmental and voice sounds, and vice versa - further muffle the sounds of gunshots and explosions.

After long negotiations with the supplier, we came up with a price of UAH 1926 per pair for an order of 1000 pieces, with retail prices in Ukraine ranging from UAH 2300 to 3200. But that's not all! When the supplier found out that the headphones were going to the front, he threw in 40 pairs from himself.

As always, half of the amount was paid by the Petro Poroshenko Foundation, so the headphones cost only UAH 963 per pair for the Community Matters volunteer budget.

Chemical hot water bottles are a wonderful invention of mankind! I took it out of the package, shook it and felt warm. It's nice to have warm hands and feet, but in winter at the front it is also a protection against frostbite, which means it is not just nice, but extremely important.

Due to the large volume of purchases and discounts, one chemical heating pad cost us only 5 hryvnias. Just 5 hryvnias to ensure that a soldier does not get frostbite on his hands or frostbite on his toes. Could there be a better investment?
