First, about the Panzerhaubitze 2000
January 20, 2023

First, let's talk about the Panzerhaubitze 2000, also known as the PzH2000. And while Yuriy Biriukov was studying the math part, he lost track of the words with the prefix "nay". The fastest firing. The most long-range. The best, the best, the best. An excellent self-propelled artillery system, we have almost three dozen of them. And, damn it, it is also the heaviest! And here's the problem - we have practically nothing to transport it with. MAZ trucks are dying, KrAZ trucks are dying. It was at this point that we got acquainted with the Oshkosh M1070 tractor - we are used to solving the urgent needs of the Armed Forces.
They look good next to each other - the largest self-propelled artillery system and the largest tractor, two boots in a pair. And only three trailers in the world are made for such a load; the gross weight of the PzH2000 exceeds 64 tons, which is a lot.
With the help of Petro Poroshenko, we have purchased two of these tractor-trailers. One set has already been handed over to the PzH2000 operators, and the other is finishing its journey and will soon be on site. Someday Yuriy will definitely write a post about the logistics detective story "How to transport the largest tank tractor and not destroy the universe", and we will definitely publish it here.
That's how your donations work - to solve acute problems. The Oshkosh project is almost closed, and on the horizon is a new urgent need in the Armed Forces and a method of solving it called Hook Lift Truck. Civilian versions are... uh. And the military ones, with 4 axles, all-wheel drive, and high ground clearance... uh ah oh oh oh yee-haw.
But the eyes are afraid, and the hands will do something.
