If yesterday we received a Very Important Official Document that allows us to make a purchase, then we will open the curtain.
First, a lyrical digression, without which it is difficult to understand the idea.
Yuriy Biriukov, volunteer, public figure, co-founder of the Cause of Communities:
"I have been volunteering, with a pause, since the first days of the war. And when I write "from the first days," I mean the first days, I have been volunteering since March 3, 2014. I have gained experience, made mistakes, and gotten bumps in the road. It just so happened that from the very first days I was "assigned" a special major (now he is a general) who helped me work SYSTEMATICALLY, for the benefit of the entire brigade. Later, the volumes grew. That's why I try to choose projects where your money will be spent as efficiently as possible. I ignore requests for summer sneakers, considering it unnecessary. I ignore requests for collimator sights, considering it impudence. I don't get into stories about thermal imagers, having been burned by them in '14. So here we are working..."
Machines. The pain of the army. The problems of the army. The history of the 14th repeats itself: first armor and helmets, and then cars. Hot top 100 requests. We are engaged in pickup trucks, yes. And no one in the military asks for a truck from volunteers, right? They ask for spare parts, yes. They ask for tires, yes. But I haven't seen any posts about raising money for trucks, which means either they don't ask or the volunteers don't dare.
Well...
Working donkeys are a hundred times more important than all the collimator sights that volunteers buy with the money raised by the public put together.
A work donkey is a hundred times more important than all the summer sneakers, tactical fingerless gloves, elbow and knee pads, RPS and unloading devices.
A working donkey will bring ammunition. It will bring food and fresh fighters. He will bring water and diesel fuel in barrels. He will bring tons of everything that is needed every single day - from logs and staples to mines and shells.
And we found 50 of them at a reasonable price. A whole flock of donkeys! Well, the photo is certainly the most striking, they are in a much more used condition. Here we sincerely thank Patrick Adamenko, Olga Solomka, Gennadiy, Yuri Zadorozhny and all the volunteers of our group who organized and helped us with the technical inspection and selection in three days. Now we are confident that the vehicles are in good running order and in good condition.
Vehicles. Leyland DAF 45.150 - diesel, all-wheel drive, winch, up to 5 tons of cargo. The dream of any busybody and any boss! It is a dream. And we are the ones who make dreams come true.
The first 12 machines have already been selected. The cost of the machine is about 20,000 $, plus delivery and adjustment, so we can get in around 25,000 $. Is it expensive? Well, it is not cheap. But every hryvnia spent on such a vehicle is justified - there are very few trucks at the front. They are too often targeted, too many losses. Oh, and the price for us will be half as much - the Poroshenko Foundation wants to pay half of it.
The first 12 machines have already been selected, the carriages for transportation have been found, and the purchase documents are in process. The recipients of the machines have also been identified, by the way, these are again DSHV crews.
Do we have a chance to cope and help our army once again?
