The main highlight of the trip, no doubt, was the JAC pickups. And yes, leading a convoy of brand new vehicles in the same camouflage color is very pleasant. It's nice to be waved at and honked at by passers-by, nice to be told at checkpoints, "Oh, I saw the news about these cars yesterday." But the fuss within the brigades is especially exciting when these pickup trucks enter airborne bases.
We delivered the raisins, and all eight trucks arrived without incident or breakdown - an advantage of the new trucks. Two airborne brigades, 4 pickup trucks each. In both brigades, the vehicles went to the anti-tank units without any collusion.
Photos from work? No problem - we'll have photos from work soon.
We also delivered a cargo of goods. The photo report is more complicated - the base is located in a place where it is very easy to give it away with a background image, but to take 7 tons of cargo somewhere "on the grass" for the sake of photos... yeah. In general, we always feel uncomfortable asking the military to take photos with volunteer cargo, it just happens.
And we were just as excited about the cargo, if not more so. Because there are hundreds of items there, and they will be provided with a lot. The brigades have been in the Joint Forces Operation since last year, which means there are no uniforms, and the current ones are worn out; there are no shoes, and the current ones are worn out. And the field cots, oh yes, they were just squeaking with delight.
The cargo has been delivered.
The total amount of money spent is more than UAH 8 million, which seems to be a record for us. But the question is not about records. More than half of this amount was paid by Petro Poroshenko. And there have been dozens of such amounts, payments, and shipments in the last two months alone.
At the same time, every iron and hair dryer is shouting about "PR" and throwing out fantastic versions of "brought and then took away." We wonder... do all these commentators want something? To stop him from helping the army? Will this make everyone better off? Is that it?
Cargoes have been delivered, friends have been hugged, and coffee has been drunk.
We are going home. To collect the next cargo.
